The Phoenix Astronomical Society
TPAS, The Phoenix Astronomical Society, was formed in 1997 and aims to share information about astronomy and related topics. We offer a boutique experience for everyone who wants to know more about astronomy, to learn about the night sky, telescopes and viewing, and a bit of astrophotography
Our members range from absolute beginners and hobiests to students, telescope-makers, experts in electronics and optical systems, through to research astronomy
We welcome all types of astronomical involvement, and our members are generous in sharing their knowledge
We are based in the beautiful dark skies of Wairarapa. We are based at West Taratahi Hall in Carterton however we meet and have observations at other locations as well
